ABOUT THE RETREAT

Day 1 – Arrival & Intentions (Samadhi Sacred Valley)

Settle into the Sacred Valley in our beautiful retreat space of Samadhi with our opening circle and a traditional Despacho ceremony. On this day we connect, set intentions, and open the retreat circle.

Day 2 – South / Serpent – Shedding & Grounding (Pisac)

On day 2 we will identify old skins that are ready to be shed. With our indigenous guides we explore the temples of Pisac’s historical site, sat above the ancient terraces that snake their way down the mountain. Throughout the day we will connect to the serpent’s wisdom through the gentle movement of Strala yoga, earth meditation, and Dharma talks.

Day 3 – West / Jaguar – Transformation & Courage (Moray & Maras)

On day 3 we step into the fire of transformation and start to connect with our inner strength. We will visit the circular terraces of Moray (representing initiation chambers of Pachamama), and the salt flats of Maras (representing the purifying energy of fire). We will transmute fear into strength through the practice of Power yoga, shadow work, and an evening fire ceremony where we will offer our shed skins into the flames.

Day 4 – North / Hummingbird – Faith & Joy (Ollantaytambo)

Day 4 is dedicated to the enduring faith and impossible journey of the Hummingbird. On this day we focus on the soul’s epic journey, embracing sweetness and trust even amidst challenge and turmoil. We will visit the living Inca city and ancient fortress of Ollantaytambo, receiving a floral blessing under the gaze of the god Tunupa. This amazing rock formation overlooks the valley from one of the majestic cliff faces overlooking the town. Tunupa is revered as a god of Nature’s Power who controls both the destructive and creative forces of nature and fire. We complete the day with an evening sound healing ceremony to open the heart.

Day 5 – East / Condor – Vision & Awakening (Puma Huanca)

On day 5 we invoke the spirit of the Condor to soar above limitation. We commence the day with the practice of Kriya yoga, to clear blockages and open our energy channels. We then connect with ourselves through the medicine of the valley, offering the option of participating in a Huachuma plant ceremony. The day will include a beautiful nature walk, with meditation to invite clarity, expansion, and spiritual vision. The day will be facilitated by an indigenous shaman (who will also be our guide for the Inca Trail as we integrate the medicine). We finish the day with some restorative practices and an evening of Yin and Yoga Nidra.

Day 6 – Center / Pachamama – Integration & Service (Samadhi)

Day 6 is about integration and preparation for the Inca Trail. On this day we return to the heart and give offerings to Pachamama. We will conduct a tree-planting ceremony with local children symbolizing the rooting of our intentions and service to the Earth. The rest of the day is dedicated to restorative practices and preparation for pilgrimage, enjoying the beautiful surrounds of the Samadhi retreat space.

Day 7 – Inca Trail Begins – Walking as Prayer

Early on day 7 we bless our packs and step onto the sacred path toward Machu Picchu. Each step an offering of presence and gratitude. We will journey through lush valleys and ancient water temples, walking in beauty and humility as the Andes reveal their living spirit, arriving at our accommodation stop in Aguas Calientes.

Day 8 – Machu Picchu Sunrise – Revelation & Vision

Departing in darkness, we arrive at the Sun Gate at dawn to greet Machu Picchu in golden light. We then explore this magical city, receiving the culmination of our pilgrimage and awakened vision.

Day 9 – Integration in Cusco

Rest, explore, and celebrate with a Peruvian cooking class. Allow the wisdom of the journey to settle within.

Day 10 – Closing Ceremony at Sacsayhuamán

We gather in gratitude and empowerment among the sacred stones of Sacsayhuaman, the majestic fortress overlooking Cusco. We celebrate in ceremony with sound, meditation, and our closing circle.

Day 11 – Departure

Morning movement and breathwork before returning home — carrying the medicine of the Andes in your heart.
